Free Confidential Workplace
Counselling for our
UCL based staff

What is Workplace Counselling?

We are adding this benefit on-site for staff and managers to go alongside our Employee Assistance Programme, not replace it.

Our counsellor visits campus to see you and you can book an appointment. Just like any counsellor your sessions are confidential, no one will find out what you talk about in your therapy session.

"This is just like having your own private therapist and the therapist comes to campus during your working hours ."

Working with Daniel to bring you free counselling

I’m Daniel Esparraguera, a trained, qualified counsellor with almost 20 years of experience helping clients resolve their issues and live happier, healthier lives.

My job is to make a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore your issues and work with you to gain a better understanding of how they affect your life and how to reduce that impact.

Chances are you have questions or want to know more about the service. Let's talk it over, book an appointment, it’s completely free.

One of the interesting aspects of working with Gather& Gather staff based at UCL is the cycle to the year and how Christmas and new year impacts on the work that you and I do.

For those who have worked with me they have had a chance to get used to someone asking htem when did they last have some time away from work, what do they have booked in the future and or do they have any long time, big pland for heading away. I'm always interested and particularly at this time of year.

What I find refreshing at Christmas (and Easter) is the shutdown, the University closes and that means we can't work and I don't come in either. I'm in for the last time in 2025 on Thursday 18th December and back on Thursday 8th January.

I hope you don't just find time to rest and relax over the festive season but find time to be around people and do activities that  help you

thrive.

See you in 2026!
